KewlFabric 7101 and KewlFabric PCM

We at KewlFabric Solutions offer two main kewling technologies along with high end wicking fabrics that work well with KewlFabric 7101. Both #KewlFabirc 7101 and KewlFabric PCM are very effective, real world ready cooling solutions, and while they can be used together, they do solve different hot environment situations. Knowing when it is best to use KewlFabric 7101 or KewlFabric PCM starts with understanding how they work so you know where they work best.

KewlFabric 7101 is an evaporative cooling solution, which means that it relies on the evaporation of water to actively cool the user. KewlFabric 7101 excels at absorbing, storing and slowly evaporating water. More details on how it works can be found at

To work effectively KewlFabric 7101 needs:

  1. Airflow to evaporate the water. The more airflow the cooler you will be.

  2. Ideally a dry heat environment where the humidity is less than 85%, or significant airflow if humidity is above 85%.

Once you move outside of these parameters, KewlFabric becomes less effective. So while KewlFabric 7101 is a lower cost cooling solution, it has certain restrictions like any cooling technology based on the evaporation of water.

KewlFabric 7101 works best for #activecooling in dry climates (humidity at 85% or less) with some airflow. People working or playing outside will find #coolingvests made from KewlFabric 7101 highly affective in keeping them cool, comfortbale and alert. We have even seen them provide effective cooling in mines 1-2 miles deep with ventilation systems. Evaporative cooling vests do not work well in enclosed environments such as in Haz Mat suits, or Tyvek suits.

This is where KewlFabric PCM comes into play. No matter what the humidity, no matter what the airflow, or lack of, KewlFabric PCM will work to cool you down. It maintains a constant temperature (usually 14C/58F, but optional temperature settings are available) and cools you down by absorbing heat away from the body. While a more expensive active cooling solution, in certain environments it is the only effective solution.

Two #activecooling solutions that address a multiple of environments providing real world, field tested #coolingsolutions.
